Exciting News from the Ban Ki-moon Foundation!
After six incredible years at the BKMF, on February 2, 2026, as Katre Olmez begins her maternity leave, she will hand over her role as Chief Operating Officer to Kathrin Ebner. We wish Katre all the very best during this special time. She has been an integral part of the BKMF since its early days, and we thank her for her dedication and professionalism, and the innovation and leadership she brought to the Foundation.
Co-chairs Ban Ki-moon and Dr. Heinz Fischer, CEO Monika Froehler, and the entire BKMF team are delighted to welcome Kathrin Ebner as Interim COO. Kathrin has played a key role at the BKMF for the past four years, leading several SDG-focused programs, heading our Scholarship Program, and most recently supporting the Foundation’s growth as Development Officer. This new role is a testament to her outstanding contributions.
Congratulations to both Katre and Kathrin on their new chapters – we look forward to this next phase together!
