Supported by Dubai Cares, in collaboration with Plan International and Unbounded Associates, the Ban Ki-moon Foundation (BKMF) has been successfully running the “Your Future in Green Jobs” Online Course and Mentorship Program for two years. Designed to equip young people with the knowledge and skills to pursue meaningful green careers, this initiative empowers youth to align their passions and interests with career paths that directly address climate change.

The Mentorship Program, tailored for youth aged 14 to 20, builds on the foundation of the “Your Future in Green Jobs” Online Course. By bridging theory with practice, it connects young learners with experts, fostering real-world insights into the growing green economy.

The BKMF is thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of the second cohort of the “Your Future in Green Jobs” Mentorship Program. From June 2025 to January 2026, 22 mentees actively participated in expert-led workshops, received one-on-one mentorship from green job practitioners, and implemented their own Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Micro-Projects. An impressive 18 mentees completed the entire program, leading impactful initiatives across the globe.

Their innovative projects span diverse sustainability challenges: teaching girls the basics of solar energy and design thinking in Jordan, creating an AI-powered mobile app for the early detection of skin cancer in Egypt, raising awareness about the health impacts of climate change in Zambia, creating sustainable beeswax candles in Switzerland, and many more! These young changemakers are proving that green careers are not just the future – they are the present.

Mentees not only applied their green skills in practice but in the past two years, also reached a total number of over 2 million people through in-person workshops and digital campaigns.
