On International Education Day, January 24, 2026, the Ban Ki-moon Foundation (BKMF) is delighted to launch its latest publication on Global Citizenship Education, titled “The Making of a Global Citizen”.
This story collection offers personal insights from global thought leaders and changemakers on the experiences that shaped them as a global citizen. With a focus on SDG 4 – Quality Education, the story collection brings together reflections, lived experiences, and advice from global leaders, changemakers and youth, including the BKMF Board, such as Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Former President of Austria Dr. Heinz Fischer, Former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, UN Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt and Global Citizen Co-founder Michael Sheldrick.
At its heart, the collection amplifies the voices of changemakers and youth, including BKMF changemakers, as they reflect on their lived experiences of global citizenship.
